“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.” Psalm 25,14(NKJV) |
God loves everybody the same but not everybody has the same relationship with God.
There are no favorites with God, but He honors those who honor Him (1 Samuel 2,30).
Peter had this realization when he came to Cornelius’ house: “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.” (Acts 10,34-35 NLT)
The Bible testifies of Cornelius (who was a gentile; he was roman) as being a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God. (Acts 1,1-2)
The fear of the Lord makes all the difference here.
The fear of the Lord is a constant acknowledgement, in the mind and in the heart, that God is God. That He is above everything, that He is worthy of our honor and respect, that He means what He says, that His love, mercy and grace are not to be taken in vain.
It was the fear of God that caused Joseph to refuse the advances of Potiphar’s wife. “How could I do such a wicked thing? It would be a great sin against God”, he said. "She kept putting pressure on Joseph day after day, but he refused to sleep with her, and he kept out of her way as much as possible." (Genesis 39,9-10). It was Joseph’s desire not to sin against God.
This to God means LOVE towards Him.
“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15,14-15(NKJV) |
When someone embraces the fear of God (loving God), they will receive revelations from God. Not because they’ve necessary asked for them but because the fear of God, loving God has positioned them in a place where God can ‘confide’ in them. May this be your portion in Jesus' name!
There is a correlation between love and revelation.
Cornelius, Joseph and so many others in the Bible like Daniel received revelations because of love.
“ And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do..?" Genesis 18,17 (AMPC) |
